Who We Are

Future Problem Solving is an international organization dedicated to addressing the potential issues our world may face in the future. Students compete individually or in teams to solve probable problems of our future and identify action needed within our present day society as well.

The Vision

Future Problem Solving is all about identifying problems and finding solutions to those problems. The idea is that students will strengthen their creative thinking AND their problem solving skills through the organization.

The Mission

Open to all students with an eye on the future and a talent for solving complex issues, this organization seeks to expand your understanding of the world and how the issues of today will shape our future. The official mission of Future Problem Solving Program International (FPSPI) is “to develop the ability of young people globally to design and promote positive futures through problem solving using critical and creative thinking.”

2016 FPS State Bowl

The Future Problem Solving State Bowl was held April 15-17 in San Marcos. Although no teams advanced to the International competition, the team of Emma Hecker, Kase Ruiz, Taylor Smith and Tanya Theis placed second in the presentation of action plan competition. Additionally, Aubrey Thoele joined students from three other schools to take first in the alternate team competition and Regan Persyn did the same, placing 3rd with her team. Overall, MVHS offered a strong showing among the nearly 200 teams competing, and next year promises to be full of even more success!
