Medina Valley High School Cheerleaders awarded Runner-up State Champions at UIL State Spirit Championship. On January 10th the team competed against 112 other Class 5A teams at the UIL State Spirit Championship in Ft. Worth, TX. The team performed 3 undeniable performances to advance to Day 2 Finals where they performed a flawless routine earning the recognition of Class 5A Runner-up State Champions!
UIL Spirit is an extracurricular activity that focuses on the traditional game day role cheerleaders have on the sidelines and in schools supporting athletic teams. At the UIL Spirit State Championship schools compete in three categories: fight song, sideline band dance, and crowd leading cheer.
The team is under the leadership of captains Hannah Persyn and Paige Sheppard. Team members include: Megan Barton, Mikayla Carroll, Madyson Gregg, Madison Kroum, Felycitie Haney, Lauren Cole, Jordan Groff, Allyson Martinez, Elizabeth Lengefeld, Analise Velasco, Kelcy Guebard, Kirsten Macdonald, Alleah Salazar, Makayla Leake, and Natalie Muren. The team is under the direction of coaches Nicole Bemis and Morgan Caka.
