Medina Valley FFA Livestock Judging Team Travels to Colorado for the National Western Livestock Show
On January 4, the 2015-2016 Livestock Judging Team traveled to Denver, Colorado to compete at the National Western Livestock Show.
The team consisting of Shelby Vestal, Dustyn Hawes, Wyatt Wilhelms, and Dalton Guinther originally qualified by placing second out of the entire state of Texas in April of 2016. The team competed in the cold weather of Denver, Colorado and placed 5th as a team with Wyatt Wilhelms achieving 5th high individual. The team competed well as they received 3rd in swine and 4th in goats with Wyatt Wilhelms placing 2nd high individual in goats.
The successful team was coached by Mr. Rodger Welch and had a wonderful experience as they came home with plaques, ribbons and their heads held high.
The Medina Valley FFA would like to thank Dr. Dwight McHazlett, Mr. Tanner Lange, Tiffany Boubel, and the Medina Valley ISD School Board for helping make this trip possible.
